Ann Livingston 3:34, Keziah Fernandez 56.8, Meisue Francis 2:10.8,
and Akilah Vargas 5:09.3. Red
Bank NJ 11:51.54: Katy Trotter 3:34.8, Christine
Hurley 60.9, Katie Kingsbery 2:16.7 and Amanda Trotter 4:58.9
The tone was set early. Boys and Girls led off with ace Stacey
Ann Livingston, who broke the US record for 600 meters in this building
3 days ago, and she went right on top as expected. Not as expected,
though was Red Bank's Katy Trotter hanging right with Livingston.
Less than a second separated them when they handed off.

The middle legs built up a big lead for Boys and
Girls, and it seemed like the Brooklyn team
vs. the clock for the national record. But Red Bank's twin sister
Amanda Trotter made up
11 seconds on the anchor leg, and the crowd roared as she almost
pulled even on the last
lap. Then Boys and Girls' Akilah Vargas (below) dug in down
the stretch to preserve the victory.
