Sylvester - Brannen - Williams
DAYTON OH 5/5/01 - Marc Sylvester of Cleveland wins a pulsating 800 (below) over James Hatch of Colorado, 1:50.82 to 1:51.23, in the second day of the Don Mitchell Roosevelt Memorial Invitational - University of Michigan bound Nate Brannen of Canada races to an uncontested 4:02.78 1600m - Lauryn Williams PA doubles in sprints. Cleveland sweeps team titles with St. Ignatius boys and Cleveland Heights girls - St. Ignatius won by taking the closing 4x400 in a head to head duel with Middletown OH, whose anchor lost the baton trying to pass Sylvester in the last turn.
