Beautiful conditions and the rolling grass course at Polliwog Park in Manhattan Beach greeted the competitors in the Bay League Finals.

In the Girls Varsity race, young Mira Costa phenoms Sadeh Tabatabai and Kevyn Murphy led the Lady Mustangs (ranked sixth in CIF-SS D2) to victory over D2 tenth ranked West Torrance and all the other competitors, clocking 17:52 and 18:02 for a powerful 1-2 punch. Chloe Curtis from Redondo grabbed third place in 18:24.

The Boys Varsity race promised to be a scorcher, featuring #1 ranked SS D3 Palos Verdes running against a solid West Torrance squad and the #9 ranked SS D2 Mira Costa Mustangs, who had the home course advantage. The race more than lived up to its billing. Palos Verdes' 4:13 miler Fawad Khan held off upstart Jose Lezama from Leuzinger, 15:17 to 15:23, to secure the individual championship, with Sea King teammate Andrew Ratley running a strong last mile to finish in 15:36 and take third. The Sea Kings' fourth and fifth men also made furious moves over the second half of the race to claim the race for PV, with Mira Costa and West Torrance both just a few points behind. The last laugh belonged to the Mustangs, however, as second place in the league finals was still good enough to clinch the overall league championship.
