Girls Division V - A very deep quality division in 2005 with a burner in Hasay on top!!

1) ***Jordan Hasay (Mission College Prep, San Luis Obispo-CE) - Frosh course record holder her at 17:02 the long blond tresses heading off into the distance should be about all this field sees of the Central Section frosh star.

2) -Hagen Atkins (Durham-NO) super 18:40 for high place individually in this combined Section finals, with that strong competition an aid in dealing with the early pace set out by Hasay, though all may ignore Jordan’s early charge. Sixth here last year.

3) *Andrea Imhof (University, San Francisco-NCS) Super run in the Section finals, the lastest great from the Uni program should fare well with 2:15 800 speed from last spring and a fourth in last year’s State run!

4) -Ashleigh Pratt (Woodcrest Christian, Riverside-SS) Ashleigh will finish out a super career this weekend, as she led her team to a runner-up effort last Fall in this competition with her tenth place run, and she brings in a fine Southern Section title effort last weekend.

5) -Ashley Schoettle (Castilleja, Palo Alto-CCS) Fine Section run and strong third place against many of the top people in this field in the annual big Division V gathering at Stanford in late September.

6) **Natalie Sojka (Mt. Shasta-NO) Strong section run, and runner-up effort last year gives Natalie great experience at this level. Should not surprise with a higher placing next weekend.

7) *Katie Fritzke - Our defending Champ at this level was the third Div V finisher in her Section meet, and has the potential to race with any but Hasay in the field. Another who should not surprise if we see her and Sojka working their way up to a higher place over the last mile.

8) **Alesandra Roger (Marin Academy-NCS) Third at this level last Fall, and second to Imhof in the NCS affair, Alesandra had a fine run at Stanford finishing ahead of Atkins and Sojka in fifth place overall at the Div V level.

9) -Tani Brown (Brentwood, LA-SS) Another star at this level for the last few years, Tani was the State Champ in 2003, and like many at the smaller school level does branch out as a fine basketballer during the winter. Tani had a fine Section run in second behind Pratt, and would like to revisit the awards area her senior year.

10) ***Ely Apgar (Calvary Chapel Academy-SD) Section Champ by a wide margin and some great races this Fall already, this fine frosh goes in search of some challenges at the State level.

Boys Division V - Another very quality group that will have a great competition.  Fritzke looks poised ready to repeat as the champion, but a tough group will challenge!!

1) Austin Fritzke (Mt. Shasta-NO) - The defending champion is not going to have an easy road, but he has proved himself against some good folks this Fall! He had the fastest Division V runner’s time at Mt. SAC racing on Saturday against larger schools, and was the Div V champ at Stanford over a number of the top runners here.

2) *Brent Handa (Fall River-NO) - Northern strength, with Fritzke a two second win over Brent in a combined Northern Section Final run that was very fast! Brent came south and took that area’s best at Mt. SAC in the Div V Sweeps, and was second at Stanford to Fritzke earlier.

3) -Tim Burdett (Wodcrest Christian, Riverside-SS) Tim is running with the State’s top ranked squad, which provides extra motivation. He has done great individually this season, with a runner-up to Handa at Mt. SAC and 15:34 on a cool day there. He was the comfortable individual section champ, and comes in with the engines gunning!

4) *Kody Peterson (Woodcrest Christian, Riverside-SS) 80 meters behind teammate Burdett a week ago in Section action, Peterson has proven himself during a fine season, including a third behind Handa and Burdett in the Mt. SAC Div V Sweeps at 15:39.

5) *Robbie Knorr (Valley Christian, Dublin-CCS) Fifth as a soph last year, Knorr is looking for a higher place this go-round, with a super Fall behind him! He was the CCS champ by 300 meters, was third at Stanford, and followed that up with a trip south to Mt. SAC, where he was fourth to Handa-Burdett and Peterson at 15:55.

6) -Matt Sojka (Mt. Shasta-NO) It must be families and the water way up north, with another half of a Mt. Shasta sibling running crew (sister Natalie ranked top half-dozen Girls Div V and the Fritzke’s double champs last year here) hoping for a high spot on the award stand at State. A good section run has him ready and he was sixth against some of the State’s best at this level at Stanford.

7) *Aric Van Halen (Oakwood, North Hollywood-SS) Southern Section junior has shown steady improvement this Fall, placing third in a very competitive area final a week ago, and lookng ready to roll here.

8) -Blake Adams (Webb, Claremont-SS) Fourth in the Southern Section Finals affair, Blake was also seventh in the Mt. SAC Sweeps event at this level.

9) -Corey Todd (Berean Christian-NCS) NCS titlest, Corey was a competitive seventh against many mentioned above at Stanford in late September.

10) -Michael Walters (Calvin Christian, Escondido-SS) The San Diego Section titlest, Walters looks ready to take a step up to the tougher pacing that the group ahead of him will provide at Fresno.
