Girls Division III - Corona del Mar and Oak Park are two of the better teams ever at this level, with some other great people around the state to challenge those talented crews.

1. - Annie St. Geme (Corona del Mar, Newport Beach-SS) State 1600 Champ has been a house on fire this fall, leading the nation's top ranked squad with a series of very, very impressive efforts, with a 16:51 clocking in leading the the team to a sub-18:00 average (performance "for the ages") at the Southern Section last weekend. Helped squad already here to Team Time Course record at Clovis Invite with 17:24 run!

2. -Ariel Wright (Bishop O'Dowd, Oakland-NCS) Defending State Champ at Division IV, Wright has closed her 2005 season nicely with a big win over a quality crew last weekend at the NCS affair. She was second at the Mt. SAC Invite to St. Geme 17:08-18:01 in late October.

3. ***Katy Daly ( St. Ignatius, San Francisco-CCS) Super regular season capped with big Stanford Invite Divisional win, Katy steps up here against a super crew with the contest a measure of her ability to race along with other stars. Good performance should put her well into the Course All-Time frosh list which has twenty-two having run 18:11 or better.

4. *Sara Cummings (Corona del Mar, Newport Beach-SS) Part of the dynamite CdM crew, Cummings has put together a series of great runs this season capped by a snappy 17:55 last weekend in the Southern Section meet at Mt. SAC

5. -Mo Huber (Acalanes, Lafayette-NCS) Sixth at this level last year, this very talented veteran was second to Wright at the NCS meet and was a fine third in the Stanford Invite at this level late in September.

6. **Courtney Lightfoot (Oak Park-SS) Leader of a super squad (CdM and Oak Park took the top seven individual places in the Southern Section Division III finals--with about 70 schools in the division speaks more than slightly to the coaching abilities of Coach Bill Sumner (CdM) and Kevin Smith (Oak Park). Courtney was third last week in that SS Finals race and was fourth at Stanford in late September.

7. Shelby Buckley ( Corona del Mar, Newport Beach) Gads! She's the defending champion here. Shows you how tough this division (and her team) is this year!!! With a great race she could move up the ladder some. Man (or Woman if you wish), this is a deep division!

8. ****Elaine Tanski (Miramonte, Orinda-NCS) Snappy frosh star handled some good folks with a super run for third at tough NCS Finals contest! She was solid 14th in the Sweeps race with all divisions combined at this course at Clovis in early October, racing 18:55.

9. **Alexi Pappas (Bishop O'Dowd, Oakland-NCS) Another of the impressive stars at this level, Alexi was third last year Division IV, and has put together a fine fall this go-round! She was second at Stanford in this division at 18:33, and was 5th in the Mt. SAC Div III Sweeps, racing 18:30.

10. -Katie Voigtlander (Burlingame-CCS) Section runner-up with a fine race, Katie was fifth at the Stanford Invite in a contest that included a number of top Div III stars.

We limited our preview to 10 and had to leave some great folks out - enjoy the motivation in proving us wrong!

Boys Division III - Great contest on top here with a talented crew to back it up - should be good contest!!

1. -Ben Sitler ( St. Francis, Mountain View-CCS) Super fall where he has been up to the challenge when presented. Took the Stanford Div III contest and was a fine 14:42 at Mt. SAC while taking the Individual Sweeps run there. Smooth-striding distance runner who better hope to leave Mr. Coe quite a while before the "sprint-in."

Div III stars Rubira - Hacker (Cabrillo) and Mike Coe

2. -Michael Coe (Cabrillo, Lompoc-SS) 1:54/4:11 track performer has seemed to remain healthy for a time so no more dangerous runner out there! Took the Mt. SAC Division III Sweeps contest at 14:50, then raced 14:47 in winning by over twenty seconds last weekend in the Southern Section contest. Up-front race here one of the more "worth-watching" of the day!!

4. -Kyle Suarez (St. Augustine, San Diego-SD) Has quietly put together a super local season in the far south, with a big Section finals run on the challenging course they run in Balboa Park for the Section affair.

5. -Sam Melton (Barstow-SS) Part of a super peak by Coach Jim Duarte's desert school at the Southern Section meet that had Sam race 15:09 in leading the Aztec win. Running for the team here as well as the individual glory which seems to lift folks, with Sam sixth in this contest last Fall.

6. -Julian DeRubira (Santa Margarita, Rancho SM-SS) Really improved over the last year, the Orange County star was third in the Mt. SAC Div III Sweeps in a fine 15:12, and has done a good job in the big meets in the past!

7. -Marco Anzures ( St. Augustine, San Diego-SD) Second half of the " St. Aug" up front dynamite duo (along with Suarez). A good section finals run to finish off the local season, Marco was ninth in this contest last year and still looks full of run for this event.
