  • At San Jose CC: Field Events at 4 p.m.; Running Events at 6 p.m.

Aptos junior Jacob Evans continues the great tradition of distance running (remember Brett Gotcher and Scott McConville not too long ago?) with a great 4:11.09 title triumph over rival Alex Dunn of San Lorenzo Valley (4:12.16 PR)! Alicia Follmar (Saratoga sophomore) continues her ascent onto national scene with a sensational 4:52.74 win at 1600 meters! She is the #2 sophomore in America right now! (Charlie Rettner photos)

  • Alex Dunn (San Lorenzo Valley, Felton) sends message to rival Jacob Evans (Aptos) with a 4:14.32 1600 heat win while Evans throws down a 1:55.43 heat win at 800 to go along with his 4:40/1600). Their clash over 4 laps could be a hot one! Also, Piedmont Hills' Peter Wolfram posts a frosh state-leading 1:57.84 in the 800! Nick Cunningham (Monterey) 10.90/21.85 tops the male sprint action. Sophomor Alicia Follmar (Saratoga) temporarily grabs the limelight with 5:00.02 heat win, but then Valley Christian's (San Jose) Amanda Thornberry rips a great 4:52.32 qualifying effort! Silver Creeks' Cherie McPherson 2:12.83 edges Los Gatos frosh sensation Christine Jones in hot 800 action (2:12.83 to 2:13.99)! Ruth Graham of Gunn (Palo Alto) is getting ready for the big meets, posting a 10:59.6 heat win here!

    E. AT-LARGE ENTRIES
    1. If an athlete does not qualify for the CCS Semi-Finals at his/her League Championship Meet, but his/her mark ranks as one of the top eight (8) performances from the League Varsity Championship Meets combined, then that athlete will be added to the CCS Semi-Final competition. This provision is for all events, including relay's.
    2. At-Large entries will be allowed in the 800, 1600 and 3200 to complete a full field of runners, as long as an extra heat is not created.
