Central Section Section State Qualifier - Thur 11/14/02 Central Section Finals - Thur 10/14/02 - Woodward Park - Fresno - Dense local fog delays start of meet - cool day greets runners at Woodward Park - Buchanan Athletes Sweep Division I titles, with Kyle Alcorn, State 3200 Track Champ, a 100 meter winner at 15:43, and junior Emily Nolrvell (Buchanan) her first ever race win with her 19:03 run over Roxanne Sellick (Bullard, Fresno) and teammates Valeria Delgado and Jessica Laslovich. Buchanan the Girls team winner with 41, with Madera Boys Div I titlests with 50. Division II - Boys - Mario Rodriguez (Tulare Western) was Div II Boys winner 16:23, with Mt. Whitney 76 the team titlests. Girls - Centennial 38 nipped Clovis East 40 behiund Brittany Grimes' 18:46 win, with Ashley Nelson leading the Clovis East challenge at 19:21 in second - Div III - Shafter a double team sweep, Girls with 37, Boys with 48, as Manual Puga led Shafter Boys with a 16:25 win, and Sylvia Medrano (Exeter) 19:30 Girls title run. Div IV McFarland (Boys Div IV) won its 15th title in the last 16 years with 28 points with the girls scoring the same 28 point total for McFarland in their win - McFarland individual winners with Victor Zavala 16:16 and Alicia Veiss 19:19. Div V had Avenal Boys sweeping to 21 point total behind Francisco Reyes' 16:59 win, with Mission College Prep (San Luis Obispo) having Allison Fields (21:19 win) help carry them to a 15 point total and win. - Results
