from Charlie Brown
What do you get when the 1a, 3a, 4a and perennial state champion
cardinal
gibbons show up for an eight mile relay?
A great race!!
North meck shattered the course with a time of 39:34 with Ragsdale,
North
forsyth and cardinal gibbons fighting it out for 2nd in the boys
race.
Ragsdale and North Meck put on a great show for most of the legs.
Meyers Park dominated the girls with another course record time
of 50:15
which mangled the old record of 51:41. Cardinal Gibbons also broke
the
record in 2nd with a very good time of 51:36. Providence day finished
a
strong 3rd.
For the teams racing the relay, this is one of the most fun and
exciting
races of the season. Teams competed in a 5 x 2500 meter relay using
batons.
The large crowd received many a chance to cheer on their teams in
some very
close races.
