This is the 12th list of the season, which is now winding down. We have only a handful of state meets remaining (notably CA, NY, NJ, MA and FL), and then the Foot Locker championships.
In using the lists to analyze the upcoming Foot Locker regionals, bear in mind that many states run shorter distances for girls, and these times are not included. We only include 3 mile and 5k races, or ones that are very close (short by 0.05 mile or less). Therefore, many good female runners may not have a qualifying time in the Leader Lists but are, nevertheless, a legitimate contender in the Foot Locker regionals.
Notes on the new lists:
Boys 5k - Jersey Village TX sr Rod Koborsi moved into the top 10 with his 14:58 victory in the Texas State Meet. There are 12 marks under 15:00, and 6 of them belong to Dathan Ritzenhein!
Boys 3 Mile - Big Bear CA sr Ryan Hall joined the top 10 with his sparkling 14:35 at Mt. SAC in the California Southern Section prelims. (The Southern Section is Hall was only 3 seconds off Jeff Nelson's all-time Mt. SAC record.
Girls 5k - Two previously unreported times by Lexington MA jr Natasha Roetter show she should be a force to reckon with in the Foot Locker Northeast regional. Her 17:29 at the Brown Invitational and 17:34 at Franklin Park, Boston in the MSTCA Inv are both top 10 efforts.
Girls 3 Mile - The big noise here was made by Florida sr Christa Benton. The Keswick Christian star's 16:55 in a regional meet at Bradenton puts her second to Anita Siraki for the season.
