Boys:  Wayzata 58; sr Nick Schneider, Benilde-St Margaret's 15:50
Girls: Grand Rapids 107; sr Lisa Dyer, Moorhead 14:14

Highlights

Boys Large School: Nick Schneider of Benilde-St. Margaret wins in 15:50. His stress fracture is healing nicely and he was able to run about three workouts in the last two weeks to supplement his pool workouts and cycling. He took it out at 4:34, but slowed considerably into the wind on the second mile and over the hills of the third mile. Second was Mar Jang of Minneapolis Edison, a 4:15 miler as a sophomore, who ran 16:04.

Wayzata wins the team race with 58 points and a 79 point margin of victory over Duluth East who had 137. Wayzata's top five averaged 16:37, 22 seconds per man faster than Duluth East's top five. Third was Hopkins, meet winner in 1998 & 1999.

Small School- Greg Liebl, sophomore from Montevideo wins in 16:04. Payneville wins easily with 76, Plainview 112, and Staples-Motley 135 (Staples-Motley was winner of last four). Paynesville averages 16:59 (small schools ran in the morning when the wind was less of a factor).

Girls Large school- Lisa Dyer of Moorhead, a senior in her second year of running easily wins in 14:14 over 4000. Only Carrie Tollefson & Kara Wheeler have run a faster time (14:09 & 14:11 in 1994) on this course. Second was Leah Wurm of Monticello in 14:32.

Grand Rapids wins the team race with 107 to Winona's 127 and Hopkins' 128. Grand Rapids averaged 15:35 per runner.

Small School- Jen Hess of Paynesville wins in 14:56 and New London- Spicer wins team race with 81 points (15:49 average). Minnehaha Academy is second with 128 and Visitation third with 136.
