The Niagara Association of USA Track & Field and the members of USATF Youth Athletics Region 2 are hosts of the 34th USA Track & Field National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships. The competition will be held at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Buffalo in Amherst, New York. 

ENTRY FORMS

All entry forms must be submitted through your USATF Regional Coordinator at your Regional Junior Olympic Championship. Your association representative must verify all entry forms for completeness and accuracy. The birth date submitted must be verified and stamped as such by either the Association Chairman, the Regional Coordinator or an acceptable form of 'proof of age' must be attached to the entry form that is submitted. Entry forms not meeting all of these requirements will be deemed incomplete and will only be processed after all missing information is provided along with an additional $10.00 incomplete entry fee. There are NO late entries for this competition.

PACKET PICK-UP

Athletes will be able to pick up their competition numbers and related materials from Monday, July 24, 2000 through Sunday, July 30, 2000 at the ALUMNI ARENA directly across from the stadium complex.  Packet pick-up will be available from 7:00 A.M. through 7:00 P.M daily with the following exception. Packet pick-up will open on Monday, July 24 at 12:00 noon and close on the final day of competition at 2:30 P.M.

USATF recommends that you pick up your competition number at least one day in advance of your competition.

ADMISSION

Coaches who have a valid 2000 USA Track & Field Coach's Membership Card will be admitted to the competition site free of charge. They will be provided with a special pass for all six days. This pass is for admission only and does not provide for any special access to the competition venues. Coaches may obtain this pass at the packet pick-up location. They must show their card along with proof of identity in order to receive the pass.

Athletes will be admitted at the athletes' entrance with their competition number as identification.

Paid Admission 

Daily -- $5 for adults and $2 for non-competing children. 

6-day passes  -- $20 adults, $10 children

4-day passes -- $15 adults, $6 for children

 

OPENING CEREMONIES

Athletes, coaches and officials are invited to participate in a 'Salute to Youth Athletics' at the Opening Ceremonies at 7 pm Wednesday, July 26 at the stadium. 

PARKING

There is free parking at the stadium in designated areas.  Some sections immediately adjacent to the stadium complex have been reserved for officials. 

STADIUM RULES

Tents- are restricted to the upper rows of the stands; they may be left in place overnight at your own risk.

Alcohol- is not permitted in the stadium.

Smoking- is not permitted in the stadium.

Coolers- are permitted in the stadium, but no glass containers are allowed and everything brought into the stadium must be removed when you leave.

EVENT CHECK-IN

All athletes must report to the designated clerking area, no later than 45 minutes prior to the published starting time for their event. Only competing athletes will be permitted in this area.  

Only athletes who are actually competing will be permitted on the track or in other competition areas.  The competition will not be delayed due to accidents, late wake-ups, and traffic or for any other unforeseen reasons 

PROTEST TABLE

All protests must be submitted in writing with a $100 fee within 30 minutes after the results of an event are posted. This time period will be strictly enforced. The fee will be refunded only if the protest is upheld. Only violations of the 'USATF 2000 Rules of Competition' may be protested. Judgment calls made by meet officials cannot be protested. 

IMPLEMENTS

Meet management will provide all implements used in the meet, including Shots, Discus, Javelins, Relay Batons and Starting Blocks.

SPIKE LENGTH

Maximum spike length is �" (9.0mm) for field events and 1/8" (4.5mm) for track events.  

AWARDS

Awards will be formally presented approximately 45  minutes after each final event.

PRACTICE FACILITIES

The main stadium complex will not be available for practice and warm-up once the competition starts. The University of Buffalo's former track & field complex (approx � mile from the stadium complex) will be generally available for practice throughout the competition. Warm-up fields adjacent to the stadium are in abundance and may also be used prior to Check-in. After Check-in, a secured warm-up area will be available for final warm-ups and stretching. Hurdles will be available in this area
