RITZ 8:48.06

Steveu called the boys 2-Mile the clash of the titans.  Race announcer Doug Speck called it the greatest boys 2-Mile field ever assembled.  But there was only one titan in this race, and he was the smallest runner in the field.  Dathan Ritzenhein was in a class by himself - After five close laps ended with the big 3 (Ritz-Eric Logsdon-Don Sage) on top, Ritzenhein said, "See ya later," accelerated out and won as he pleased.  Four others got under 9:00 - Nick Schneider, Noel Paulson, Tim Keller, and Matt Tegenkamp -- but Logsdon faded to 6th and Sage 8th .  The time was disappointing to those who expected an assault on the record book, but Ritz put it in perspective when field announcer Ian Brooks put a microphone in his tired face after the race.  The only objective was to win, Ritz said, and besides, he has to run two relays Saturday -- the 4xMile at 9:30 am and the distance medley at 10:05 pm.  Isn't there some race to run in the afternoon?  Detailed results
