Coaches Reception

There will be a coaches reception at Long Reach High School in the gym from 7:30pm - 9pm on Friday April 14, 2000. Reebok and Colorworks Promotions will have apparel and other products on display. They will discuss team sponsorship opportunities as well fund raising programs designed to help teams raise money.  There will be pizza on hand!

Date/Time: Saturday, April 15, 2000. The first running event will start at 9:00AM and the first field events will start at 9:15AM. Coaches may pick up meet packets Saturday morning at the 8:30AM coaches on the infield near the start/finish line.

Location: Long Reach High School 6101 Old Dobbin Rd Columbia, MD

Timing: FinishLynx Electronic Timing System.

Facilities: The track is synthetic, all-weather, 8 - 42 inch lanes with 2 long jump/triple jump pits. Maximum track spike length: � inch. There will be a concessions stand selling food and beverages.

Parking: There is plenty of parking a short distance from the track, including spaces for buses.

Medical Info: There will be trainers available for athletes who are injured. However, teams are strongly encouraged to bring their own trainers, taping, and massage personnel.  Ice will be available and an ambulance will be on call.

** Entry & Deadline Information **

Teams are allowed to enter a maximum of 2 athletes in each open event and 2 relay teams. Entry forms should be mailed to the 2000 Capital Beltway Track & Field Classic, C/O Sam Caldwell, 9106 McHenry Lane, Lanham, MD 20706. Entry forms must be received by Monday, April 8, 2000. There will be no day-of-meet registrations. Our fax number is (301) 577-0381 and you may call (301) 577-5293 to verify receipt. Entry fees are $60 for each boy's team and $60 for each girl's team. Checks or money orders must be made payable to the "Maryland Elite Athletic Club."

Sanction: This meet is sanctioned through the National High School Federation.

Therefore, only eligible student-athletes will be allowed to compete. This is not an open track meet.

Uniforms: All competing athletes must wear a school issued uniform and all relay teams must wear matching uniforms.

Awards: Awards will given to the top 3 boys' and girls' teams. Individual awards will be given to the top 3 finalists in each event. Trophies will be awarded for first place, and medals for second and third place. In addition, a Most Outstanding Female and Male Athlete Award will be presented, based on voting by head coaches only.
