Falcon Girls Sweep the Sunkist; Varsity & J.V. 2005 Champions
Katherine Gomez, Jennifer Gonzalez and Donnisha Johnson shoulder to shoulder lead the falcons to their first Sunkist league title since 2000. The race was never in doubt as other teams scrambled for the second and third places the falcons cruised to an easy victory by 24 comfortable points. Not only did the falcons win the varsity race but also showcased in the junior varsity race as to what the future will bring as Ascencio, Ruiz, Smith and Olsen paced the squad to an almost perfect finish in winning the junior varsity competition by 58 points. The future really does look good as the falcons feature no seniors and the top scoring five of the varsity is made up of one junior, one sophomore and three frosh. This might be the beginning of something really special. Stay tuned for future years. This Saturday the falcons will entertain 15 teams from California and Arizona in their first ever Rubidoux Invitational on the new Rubidoux campus. First race will be the Frosh girls at 8:00A.M.
