Frontier League Finals
Laks Casitas, Ojai - 3.00 Miles
Thu, Nov 3, 2005

No real surprises here as Nordhoff took home the team title for the second consecutive season led by Brandon Shirck and Mario Gomez, and
Miguel Cisneros of Santa Clara made his move just past the mile mark to establish a comfortable lead ehich he held to the finish. Miguel was
victorious in all three Frontier meets this season. Kyle Block placed second leading his Oaks Christian team mates to a second place as well.
The drama here was the team battle for second with OC sitting its #4 runner the decision hindged on the finishing kicks of the OC and Malibu #6
runners as Rob Runyeon surged past Chris Peck to tip the scale for the Lions. Malibu has continued to demonstrate they are the new team to
watch in the division. Nordhoff and Oaks Christian qualify automatically and Malibu and Santa Clara will qualify at ranked At-Large entries.

GIRLS

There is a new sheriff in the Frontier! The Oaks Christian girls ended Nordhoff's county record of 13 consecutive league titles. This is only the
5th time in 24 years Nordhoff has not won. Nordhoff, missing one of its top runners Kelsey Owen to a soccer injury the night before, held OC a
t bay until the final half mile. OC's girls surged ahead to claim the narrow victory. Roseanne Fleming won her second individual tile and remains
undefeated in her career in league competition. This is also her 5th victory of the season. Becki Ottuch of Malibu and Winnie Chan of Santa Clara
both qualify as individual for CIF Prelims.
