Mini-Alma slays a true California giant!
Duarte's Mohamed Trafeh, now
five days into the Ramadan fasting ritual, ate up the competition
along the final four laps, ripping a 4:51/4:22 negative split win. The
9:13 win broke the HS meet record, with Ryan Hall's 8:55 or so achieved
here when they had an Open session race. Mighty mite

Duarte's Mohamed Trafeh ran
a smooth 4:51/4:22 negative split en route to a 9:13 HS meet record
(Ryan Hall's
8:55 or so a few years back came against open competition) to beat a
great run by Covina's Andrew Tachias (9:20).
In the girls race, Corona's Alma Escobar (left), moved with 800m to

HS meet record. Magdaleno clocked 11:06.
