Coach Mahr's notes: (Sultana HS)

" The course is the most difficult of the year that we have run on...we
look forward to running here because we know that this course 'runs'
slower than Mt. SAC where CIF prelims and finals are held...approx. 30
seconds for the 'top' boys and 38-40 seconds for the 'top' girls. We
had very solid times out of the top five in each race...Martin Cedeno
from Serrano ran a blazing last 2 miles to tie for the second fastest
time on this course - ever. (record is 15:50, Barstow runner
2001)...following Martin was the "host" of Sultans who had all 7 runners
garnering All-MRL awards. Kelsey Delagardelle continued her build-up
towards a contention for a CIF Finals race that could see her go after
an individual title. her time of 18:12, far outdistances the previous
course record of 18:39 ( Michelle Ziser 2000). Not too far behind the
next 2 girls hammered a rugged pace that brought the Sultans home with a
1-5 sweep of the race. Tough races by #6 Kristina Tudor and Kim Miller
#8 will set them up for possible ALL- CIF bids in d-3 races. "

Thank you for the coverage...John Mahr Head Coach - Sultana HS and
Meet Director - MRL CC Finals 2002.
