The University of Arkansas Women's squad is coached by Lance Harter, who was at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo before taking that job a number of years ago.  He has had a recruiting connection to San Lorenzo Valley HS in Felton, with a couple of the Cougars from Coach Rob Collins' program heading to the SEC to do battle for the Razorbacks.  Taylor Johnson, Kim Slater, and Chris Proffitt headed to the University of Arkansas HS Invitational Meet at the super Fayetteville facility which is the home to the NCAA Indoor Championship Division I Meet, with some good early season results for the distance events. Taylor Johnson was 5:11.77 for second in the first section of the Girls event then came back for a 2:19.74 for second in the Section 1 800.  Chris Proffitt was fifth in the Boys Section 1 race at 4:35.27, and followed up with a 9:13.76 for 3000 meters in a runner-up Section 1 finish.
