Senior Kelechi Anyanwu (Silver Creek High School, San Jose; California) threw the discus 52.99 meters (173-10), which moves her to seventh on Cal’s all-time top performers list.

Thirty-six students came down from Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon for the first Cal All-Comers Meet of 2007.  They left after school on Thursday and spent the night in Redding.  They stopped in Vacaville for a hamburger at In-and-Out Burgers. They stayed at the Executive Hotel Vintage Court at 650 Bush Street in San Francisco, which is near Union Square, on Friday night. They woke up on Saturday morning to find that their large white bus had been tagged (painted), while it was parked in front of their hotel.  According to www.mapquest.com it takes eight hours and twenty minutes to drive the 534.11 miles between their school and their hotel in San Francisco.

There was also a large contingent from Buchanan High School in Clovis.  It takes three hours and ten minutes to drive the 181.93 miles between their school and Edwards Stadium.  Tim Bogdanoff (Buchanan HS 1998; California 2003) placed second in the hurdles in 8.15.
