Event Preview -
US Collegian Alexandria Anderson, a gold medalist in the 2004 World Junior Championships in the 4x400 relay, showed her versatility with a world leading 11.12 in the US Championship run, placing her among the top ten all-time in World Junior history!  Gabby Mayo, American eleventh grader, was a shocking 11.16 behind Anderson, to move into the World All-time top twenty, making the US duo very formidable.  Schillonie Calvert of Jamaica was seventh in the 04 World Jr Meet at 100m, and is very sharp of late, but was third to Bianca Knight (3rd in 06 US Jr Champs) in the 2005 World Youth Championships.  European Tezczhan Naimova of Bulgaria is 11.23 in June, and has run 23.06 for 200 this summer.  Anderson and Mayo are used to the summer grind, unlike many Americans tracksters, with the US Junior Olympic competition that often goes into August, with Calvert and Naimova making up the other part of the foursome that should battle for the medals here.

Any of the others mentioned above could be in line for a Finals spot with a good series of runs through the rounds.
