Men's Discus

The Discus is led by a European contingent who are very familiar with each other. Last year's champion from the Euro Junior Meet, Margus Hunt (Estonia) has a 64.32 (211-00) from 2006 and two other meets this year over 63.28 (207-07). Martin Wierig (Germany) was third in the 2005 European Junior Meet with a 60.96 (200-00) best in 2005, with a 61.75 (202-07) from May of this year. Fourth placer from that 2005 European Junior contest was Mihai Grasu (Rumania), who has a fine 65.55 (215-00) 2006 best and five meets this season over 61.60 (202-01). Nikolay Sedyuk (Russia) has improved out to 62.24 (204-02) this season, with Pavlo Karsak (Ukriane) 58.87 (193-01) in 2005 and 61.79 (202-08) so far in 2006. The talent just continues to roll in this event, with Mohammad Samimi (Iran) 61.52 (201-10) this year, and Cuba's Jorge Fernandez, runner-up in last year's Junior Pan Am Meet, 60.06 (197-00).
Marin Wischer (Germany) was ninth in last year's European Junior meet, with a 59.13 (194-00) 2006 best. China's Junior Champ, Hu Tai, was 59.11 (193-11) to win that meet, with US titlest, Bo Taylor 58.55 (192-01) to win that competition.
