ALL EVENTS ARE AT. MT. SAC. UPDATE INFORMATION The field size is 25 schools with a number of small schools. You will be out on time.

Divisions: Frosh/Soph/Varsity-Boys and Girls
Entry Fee: $ 7.00 per person per event
$ 10.00 per relay team

Entry Fee of $ 500.00 pays for unlimited entries per School
Under no circumstances will adds be taken on the day of the meet!

Make certain you enter everyone!You may only substitute for someone entered in the same event

The check must reflect the same fee as the original entry list. A 10 % discount is offered to those whose checks are received by March 7th. To all others the entry fee is due the day of the meet at packet pick-up. No Entry Fee-No competing.
Rules of the Meet: The 2004 CIF Track and Field rules will be followed.

Entry Form: Will be sent to you after you declare participation in the meet. One line per athlete listing all events entered and best marks. List relays on a separate line with their best time. Do not list individuals for the relays just School name. Make sure all Divisions have separate entry forms. All possible entries must be entered in the meet to compete.

Divisions, Flights and Heats: CIF rules enforced on maximum of (4) events per individual. Flights and Heats will be seeded by the submitted times, distances or heights. Please submit 2004 Best outdoor marks only. You will only hinder your athlete’s performance by inaccurate information. If no performance mark is available enter “No Mark”.

Relays: The Frosh/Soph relays can be a combination of Frosh and Soph athletes or; you may enter an all Frosh or all Soph teams, but there will Not be separate awards in this Division.

Schedule Changes: All Running and Field events will be conducted early if the meet should move faster than the printed time schedule. Announcements will be made throughout the meet should this occur to allow your athletes ample time to adjust for warm-up. Insure that athletes traveling to Mt. SAC to compete in later events arrive well in advance of the scheduled events.

Results: Final results will be posted on the wall of the press-box, southeast side restroom and on the southwest restrooms.

Clerk of the Meet
Running Events: Athletes must report to the Check-In area 45 minutes prior to their event. The Check-In area is in front of the Mt. Sac field house. At 15 minutes prior to the event they will be ushered to the Southeast straight-away for heat and lane assignment. Failure to report to the Clerk area on time will result in athlete being scratched.
Warm-up Area The valley loop of cross country course should be used for warm up.. The Athlete is responsible for knowing when to report to the Clerk Area for check-in.

Field Events: Athletes will report directly to their Field event area 30 minutes prior to start of Event.
Warm-up Area: Each flight of Field Events will have 5 minutes for warm-ups between flights.

Discus: The Varsity Discus competition area is located at the New Ring.
The Frosh/Soph Discus will be on the lower ring football field.
Each competitor will have 3 attempts with the best-entered marks in the 1st two flights.
Each competitor’s best mark will be measured upon completion of the flight.

Long Jump/Triple Jump: Each flight will have 5 minutes for run-throughs and warm-up. Prior to competition. All first legal jumps will be marked and then a performance mark will be established at the lowest jump. Only jumps that surpass that mark will be measured from that point forward. It is important to have check marks made prior to the start of the flight so that run-throughs are not necessary between flights. Boys on east pit, girls on west pit.

High Jump/Pole Vault: (5) competitors will be kept revolving at all times. This means that when a jumper clears the height another will be added to the rotation. Be aware of your position in the jumping order.

Numbers: All entered athletes will have a number. The number will be worn on the front of each athlete’s singlet and attached prior to check-in.

Seeding procedures: All athletes will be seeded according to submitted times with (9) per lane race and (27) in the 800-alley start. The 1500 m and 3000 m will be from a waterfall start line. The early heats and flights will be the best seeded entries. All field event flights will be pre-seeded.

Awards: Lane races 3 medals
800 m 8 medals
1500/3000 m 10 medals
Field events 4 medals per flight
Pole Vault 10 medals
High Jump 10 medals
Awards will be presented after each flight and race
Timing: All races will be Electronically Timed, except the HH and distance races and at the competition of each event the results will be posted on the bathroom wall near the Southwest and Southeast corner of the track. Athlete numbers only on hand times and names on electronic times. This placing will correspond to there finish and time. Please instruct athletes to keep away from the Finish line area.

Physical Plant: All races will be competed in Metric distance. Only 3/16-inch or less pyramid spikes only will be allowed. Spikes will be available at the Check-In area.

Dressing facilities: No dressing facilities will be available. It is recommended that all athletes arrive dressed for competition. Diamond Bar High School, Mt. Sac, or Cal Poly Pomona are not responsible for any property lost by individuals, schools or spectators.

Trainers: Qualified trainers will be on site. You must provide your own supplies as Cal Poly Pomona Athletic Department will not provide them.

Team and participant entrance: The initial entrance for all schools is the West entrance out of the tunnel. All athletes/coaches/trainers will be stamped at this entrance.

Please: All athletes and coaches are to stay off the infield or track unless competing.

For the athlete to be successful, they need to know how this meet will be conducted. Please insure that everyone is informed of the rules.
Because of broken glass in the Stadium, no ice chest will be allowed in the Stadium.

Spike rule will be strictly enforced

2004 Cal Poly will host the Division II National Track and Field Championships at Mt. Sac on May 27,28,29.
