- Pasadena Running Roses Kiani Profit (frosh Muir HS) wins Youth Girls Pentathlon 3294 points - Teammate Ryan Holmes takes Youth Boys Pentathlon 3194
- Ryan Holmes: "This is the best of meet I have ever had. I had a PR in every event," said Holmes. "Last year, I got 8th place and I want to thank my coaches: Mosely, Kevin, David, George, Chuck and all the others coaches who helped me get to this point," Holmes continued.
- Shana Woods (Long Beach Sprinters/LB Poly) leads Intermediate Girls Heptathlon - on way to Nat'l Soph HS Class Record?
- Shana has 3040 points after the first day - her Jr Nat'ls total from Texas in June day 2 would have 706 (18-01.5 LJ) - 435 (91-03 Jav) - 722 (2:27.66 800m) - total 4903 - Soph Class Record 5066 by Jodi Anderson (Texas) from 1997 - If Shana scores as she did at Jr's she would be 164 points away from a new record - a LJ of out near 20 feet (remember she is the State Champ with a 20-07.75 from that meet), with slightly improved javelin and 800 marks would make her US History's best ever soph in the 7-eventer!!!
