The Good: A total of 8 Olympic Trials records were extablished today, many centering on the depth of the men's 100m final as four eclipsed the 10-second barrier.

The Bad: Reigning Olympic pole vault champion Nick Hysong failed to earn a return spot the the Games, placing 5th.

The Ugly: Tim Montgomery, already reeling from suspicions of steroid abuse, finished 7th in the 100m.
