Throwers Tai Battle and Buck Sullivan and 400m star Deonna Lawrence headline 1/10/04 AC at Diablo Valley!!

Battle and Sullivan are both actively training and competing in two predominately east coast events, the hammer and weight throws. Tai moves to #5 nationally (#1 in California) in the 20lb Weight Throw and #17 (#1 CA) nationally in the Hammer after this week's Meet #2 all-comer meet at DVC. Buck moves to #9 nationally (#1 CA) in the Hammer and #19 nationally in the Weight Throw (25lb) and #1 in the State in the same meet. Tai is a senior at Will C. Wood HS in Vacaville, Buck is a junior at Vacaville High School, Vacaville.

Things continue to heat up on the DVC campus in the throws. The facility features an excellent throwing area, hence the influx of hammer enthusiasts. The Vikings will be assisted this spring in the hammer as Nathan Nutter, former Cal athlete, will begin training on campus mid-January and will serve as an assistant coach to the growing group of throwers.
