Mr. James Field, a one-man promotion service for the Women's Steeplechase event, offered the following in regards to Lindsay's 6:47.03 for the Reebok Aggies last weekend in the USATF Jr Nationals: Women 2000 Meter Steeplechase Junior Name Year Team Finals Finals
James Fields has produced the Women’s Steeplechase Report for the past eight years. Although he has just begun an eight-week vacation he managed to respond, indicating that the race winner, Angela Marvin of Baylor, set a new junior (19 and under) record of 6:42.82 and Lindsay set a new high school record. James Fields’ response: Thanks for confirming water jump details at Jr. Women's race in Palo Alto. You probably noticed that I did not wait for those details past midnight EDT last Sunday to send the Steeple Report. I had not realized Lindsay was a high school athlete; I believe she represented a club at nationals. As to HS record, the few who have run in the 6:50s did so with a short 3.06 water jump and no time under 6:50 has been reported for an American "junior" until last Sunday's race. So Lindsay is the best-ever HS steeple time for 2000m distance in the USA." CONGRATS!!!
