Women's 100 Meter Hurdles

Lodree in middle - Stewart right in red

Good group had Talia Stewart (Logan HS) lane 3, Ashley Lodree (El Cerrito) lane 6, and Ashlee Brown (North, Riv) lane 8, with UCLA's Dawn Harper (via Illinois HS) in lane 5 in the middle. Great run by Lodree in lane 6, with Harper off to the races for the win at 13.28w (+2.3 mps). Texan Alandra Sherman was second at 13.38 with Lodree third at 13.59w. Stewart was a fine 5th at 13.92w.

Men's 110mHH

Kevin Craddock goes over hurdle 8 during his 14.36

Great field here Kevin Craddock (Alex Van Dyke TC/James Logan HS) joining the crew in lane 6. Craddock a super race as Kenneth Ferguson (South Carolina) off to the races for a 13.60 (+0.3) win! Kevin was 14.36 over the 42" barriers, a National Age-15 record bettering his own best from earlier this season at the Modesto Relays.

Women's Steeplechase

Lindsay Allen rolls in the Steeplechase

Lindsay Allen (College Park HS, Pleasant Hill) was against some collegians and national prep leader Heather Iatauro (New York). Allen sat third behind Baylor's Marvin for most of the event, with a spirited last half lap effort for one of the top two spots, but fell just short 6:46.42-6:47.03 of earning that position to the Barbados Pan Am Jr affair. Lindsay shows some real potential in this event, and if eligibile age-wise (not born 1984 or earlier), it is our understanding that there will be the event in the World Junior Championships next summer in Italy. The two collegians ahead of her will undoubtedly not be eligible next year for the Junior "under-20 years of age" program.

Men's Steeplechase

Kevin Davis sprints in during a fine Steeplechase effort for UC Berkeley!!

Defending Champ Daniel Lyon (Unat/Hesperia) was with the leaders through about 4 laps, but faded, with Kevin Davis (UC Berkeley via Clovis West HS) was with a pack of two at the gun and looked super, racing away over the final half lap to win at 9:01.34. Lyon was 8th at 9:35.58.

Lambie at the finish just over 4:20 offiically

Ari Lambie (Massachusetts) went right to the lead going after the 4:18.1 Jr Meet Record interestingly held by a graduate of her very high school, Bromfield School in Harvard, Mass by Lynn Jennings (1977). Out in 70.2, she led Chantelle Dron (NH) thorugh a 2:19.7 800 and 3:28.1 1200 (3:10 with one to go). Se fell just short with a fine 4:20.21 clocking, totally solo. She will be at Stanford next year.

Phillip Reid closes out a fine season in the Jr 1500

Men's 1500m - Sean Drake (Stanford) led early and pushed through a last part of a 63.5 400 - Phillip Reid sat back in the middle. 2:04.6 had Jeremy Doherty of Illinois State leading with Drake and Reid back in the pack. Last year's winner Chrisopher Lukezic was 2:50 with one to go and racing away. 3:04.6 at the 1200 with Reid 7th at that point. Phillip looked full of run, but the pack ahead was tough! Lukezic was 3:49.69 to win with Reid 8th at a fine 3:55.59-good group!! Florida prep Sam Vasquez was second at 3:50.85.
