"Winning" smiles in Division II Girls!

Mater Dei junior Elizabeth Woepse and San Marcos junior Kristin Trichler both claimed titles in Division II action at the CIF-SS Finals, with Woepse being the last of the 128 event titlists crowned as her pole vault competition concluded at roughly 8 p.m.! A worthwhile day for Woepse, who matched her Southern Section Division II record in netting her second CIF title! Trichler, who has really put together some sensational efforts this spring, was strongest down the closing straightaway to win the division in 2:13.51! The race was a tight one, with Mater Dei's Kristin Kovacich, Cajon frosh Denise Thomas and Cypress sophomore Lauren Jirges also within a second of the winning time. All will be back next year for more excitement!
