Boys Div 3
100 - Matt Slater (Servite) a good start, with Lionel Larry (Dominguez) running him down at the finish 10.68-10.78 (+0.4 mps wind).
200 - Lionel Larry (Dominguez) came to run, streaking a 20.85w (+3.0) as it was getting very gusty by this time of day. Dane Endley (Laguna Hills), one of the area sprint finds this spring, continued his fine running of late with a 21.49w for second, with Slater next at 21.61w, and fine soph and age-group star Tee Phillips (Compton) fourth at 21.64w.

Boys Div III 200 - Lionel Larry - Dane Endley - Matt Slater

400 - Soph Cary Harris (Notre Dame, SO) out well, with he and Jeff Jacobs (Santa Margarita) 23.0 at the 200. Jacobs ran the third 200 strong and entered the homestretch with the lead. San Luis Obispo’s Dane Hodgson ran hard down the stretch, but could not catch Jacobs who raced 48.44 to Dane’s 48.57.
800 - Duane Solomon (Cabrillo) came out full of run, with 26.5 at the 200 and 54.1 at the 400. Mario Cobian (Rosemead) moved up within 10m at the 600 at 1:22.6, with Solomon powering in at 1:50.99, looking very sharp, Cobian 1:53.03 in second!

1600 - super Cabrillo duo of Duane Solomon and frosh Michael Coe out at 32.1, with Daniel Lindstrom (Granite Hills) on the inside. Pedestrian 66.0 first 400, with 32.8 first 200 of the next lap 1:38.8 through the 600. Pace continued at moderate level through the 800 with Huberto Rojas moving quick at 2:11.5 to take the lead in his pink shorts. Solomon covered the move, with a 2:44.0 at the 1000m mark. 3:15.4 was the 1200 time, with Rojas and Solomon quickest over the next half lap at 29 seconds. Rojas was strongest down the stretch for the win at 4:14.28, with Mario Cobian (Rosemead) 4:14.60 in second and Solomon 4:15.41 in third.

HH - Marquis Profit (Muir) broke fast, with Craig Woods emerging at hurdle 4 to take the lead and win comforably with a fine 14.24 (+1.8 mps) wind over Profit’s 14.41.
300 IH - Craig Woods (Dominguez) and Brent Linas (Santa Margarita) even at the 150m mark, with the Dominguez star a solid final last half to win at 38.01. Marquis Profit moved up to second at 38.88.
400 Re - great race with Culver City into the final baton exchange slightly ahead of Dominguez and Servite, with Lionel Larry (Dominguez) and Matt Slater (Servite) big anchor legs. Larry and Slater blazed mid-9's on their anchor legs, with Servite 42.06 and Dominguez 42.07 1-2.

Dominguez 4x400 group (Dave C)o

1600 Re - Lompoc led after two legs, with Dominguez 51.8 lead-off and 48.7 leg 2. Woods was 48.4 on leg 3 for Dominguez to move into the lead, with Larry for Dominguez (49.4) and Jeff Jacobs 47.2 for Santa Margarita in second as a team. Dominguez was 3:18.15, with SM 3:18.70.
HJ - Zack Novack (Estancia, Costa Mesa) was a six inch winner here at 6-06, clearing there on his third attempt, with no misses at 6-00, 6-02, and 6-04.
PV - Matt Lachman (Harvard-Westlake) was clean thru 15-00 with no misses for the win. Andrew Little (West Torrance) also cleared 15-00 in second.
LJ - Demitri Mosby (Gahr, Cerritos) big final effort of 23-07.75 (wind +2.0) after Kevin Finney (Torrance) was 23-01 (+1.4) on his third effort and 22-11.25 on his fourth and final jump.
TJ - Staton Gibson (Ramona, Riverside) opened up at 47-11.75 (+1.6), an effort that no one came within a foot and a half of during the competitionl. Scott Tsuda (Notre Dame, SO) ended second at 46-01.5 (+0.5).
SP - Oscar Rodriguez (Palm Desert) 55-09.25 final (fourth) effort to win over John Ludden (Harvard-Westlake), who was 54-02.75 and 55-05 on his first two tosses.
DT - Dustin Slinkard (Santa Margarita) 163-01 in the first round to take the lead. Ed Cornell (Burroughs, Ridgecrest) 164-06 at the end of round 2, with John Ludden (Harvard-Westlake) 167-03 on the event’s very next throw. Ludden followed with good 164-06 and 163-07 tosses, with none of the other leaders able to improve.

Girls Div 3

100 - Carolyn Rodriguez (Western, Anaheim) blasted away from the pack with +1.5 mps of wind for a fine 11.75 run over Cortney Emmons (South Hills) 12.14.

200 - another good effort by Carolyn Rodriguez, as she raced away to a 23.97w (+2.6 mps) win over teammate Danielle Eichelberger 24.87. .
400 - Frosh Jordan Johnson of Muir and Kerry Gamble of Notre Dame battled early, with Gamble a huge homestretch run that had her come in at 55.67.

Jenessa Botello (Whittier) and Anna Farias-Eisner (Harvard-Westlake) Div III 800 1-2

800 - 31.6 with a huge pack at the 200. 68.8 at the 400. Brittany McClellan (Bonita) led at the 600 at 1:43.8, with Jenessa Botello (Whittier) the eventual winner at 2:17.15.
1600 - The entire pack of nine were close through the 800 at 2:34.9. (74 first lap 81 second). Pack of five within two meters at 3:50.1 at the 1200, with Jenna Kingma leading the charge over the last lap with a sub 70 second for that loop to a 4:59.90 win.
3200 - Div I-III - see above as Annie Gustafson (Brea) ended closest to winner Alison Costello with her 10:51.65.
HH - good race across the middle of the track. Soph Lauren Collins (Santa Margarita) eventually edged out ahead to a 14.50 win (+0.2) over Andranicka Fomby (Muir) 14.79.
300 LH - big-time effort by Jhna Samuels of Diamond Ranch (Pomona), who ran a very solid step pattern on the way to a 43.72 near two second win.
400 Re - Notre Dame (Sherman Oaks) steady, smooth win here 48.45 over South Hills 48.84, with Carolyn Rodriguez (Western) screeching anchor for her 48.99 third place team.
1600 Re - Muir leads off in 57.6 to take the lead - St. Lucy’s, with Tara Davis-Quarrie on leg 2 moving up close but the Mustangs still lead off a 58.3 leg. 59.2 kept a good lead for Muir going to the anchor. Muir 56.7 on the anchor for 3:52.36. Carolyn Rodriguez 57.0 for Western.

HJ - Sharon Day (Costa Mesa) passed through 5-06 (2nd was Lauren Collins of Santa Margarita at 5-04), with first attempt clearances at 5-06, 5-08, 5-10.5, and 6-00. After that she took two jumps at 6-02 and one at 6-03.25 but could not get over.
PV - Kacey Lundgren and Monica Pacas back at it for Atascadero with 12-00 and 11-06 respectively for 1-2 placings, Pacas confident enough to start at 11-00. Megan Jamerson (Santa Margarita) was next at 11-06.
LJ - Candyce Babb (Pomona) narrow winner 18-06.5 (+1.6) over Annisa Faquir (Muir, Pas) 18-06 (+1.7). Babb 17-11.75 and 18-05.5 then 18-06.5, with Faquir 18-06 on her fourth jump to come close.
TJ - Nicole Duhart (Gahr) fine 39-11.25 (+0.7) effort to take the event by a huge margin over Erricka Williams (St. Joseph, Lakewood) 36-05 (+1.2).
SP - Sarah Barber (St. Joseph, Lakewood) 38-07.75 winner on her second throw, with Abria Lipscomb (Northwood, Irvine) 37-10.75 on her third effort for second.
DT - Abria Lipscomb (Northwood) opened up at 125-00 to take the lead, with Fiapopo Apelu (Magnolia) 124-01 and 127-10 on her first two throws, the latter good for the win, wit Lipscomb two fouls and a 124-04 for her next three tosses.
