Mike Poe (Etiwanda) great job of pacing. Out at 60.9 (400) and 2:04.6 (800) Mohammed Trafeh (Duarte) was closest of the pack. About a half-dozen had broken away by that point, with Michael still pumping hard with a lap to go at 2:53.7. At the 1200 in 3:09.3 Trafeh moved up with Mexican visitor Edgar Santoyo a big charge over the final 300. Trafeh never allowed Santoyo to establish contact, with Mohammed the winner in a fine 3:53.78
