lead, with fellow football star, Matthew Slater, eventually edging up

Good race, with Bakersfield frosh star, Eric Taylor (above middle), who
was dq'd at Pasadena Games for lane violation in the low 48's, up by 300
meters to challenge DeSean Cunningham (above left), state leader off a
47.58 run at Arcadia last week. Cunningham fought off the young star on
the way to his 48.06 win. Junior Dane Hodgson (SLO) continued to show
fine ability, with a 48.69 run for third. Chris George finished strong
to win the second race at 49.14.
