scene after adding the fastest 1500m time in America (3:47.07) to his
nation-leading times in the 1600 and 2-mile! Mark beat O of Oregon
frosh phenom Galen Rupp (!!) to win it! On Friday, Big Bear HS alum
Ryan Hall made his pro debut & qualified for World Champs at 5k!

Former Calif. preps Melissa "Missy" Faubus of Centennial HS in
Bakersfield (now at UC Berkeley), Corey White of Mt. Pleasant
HS (now at Univ of Redlands), and SLO HS's Dan Nunn (Georgetown Univ) earned trips to Canada for the Pan Am Juniors competition, with White winning the Junior Men's Javelin Throw (221 feet, 4 inches), Faubus taking second in the Junior Women's Shot Put (50-06.25), Nunn runner-up the 5k at 14:17.67, qne Shevell Quinley (Merrill West, Tracy) a super 5142 Heptathlon win at the USATF Jr Nationals. Congrats
!

Shevell Quinley had an eventful day in the heptathlon, moving from second after day 1 to the USA junior championship. Quinley had a phenomenal effort in the long jump, her mark of 6.18m/20-3.5 giving her 905 points. After a javelin toss of 28.08m/92-1 yielded just 440 points, she finished with an 800m time of 2:27.83 (727) to finish the day with 5,142 points and the win.
