Christy Adamyk (Glendora)!

She's a significant part of a great class of 2007 runners, with Christy Adamyk (Glendora) having accomplished so, so much before her twelfth grade seasons!!  She was a Foot Locker National Finalist last fall in the harrier sport and was fourth in the State Meet Division I, with obviously interest in similar qualification this go-round and high places in those championship affairs!  She is one of the nation's top tracksters, with 4:53.84 mile and 10:19.83 3200m clockings on the oval.  She is off to a super start in 2006 with a blazing 16:40 for third place at Woodbridge, and a sixth place effort this past weekend in the Sweepstakes race at Mt. SAC.  She is one determined young lady who always comes to run hard, and will be a huge factor come championship time once again this school year!!

Congrats and best of luck!!!

1) Briefly summarize how the season has gone for you this fall-

My season has gone very well this fall. I've been happy with my times and hope to just keep improving.  Woodbridge was a really neat experience because it was my first time racing there and all my other races have gone well.

2) Have you generally been pleased with your efforts so far and how do your times compare with last year?

Yes, I'm really happy with how I've done so far this season and my times are alot better than last year. On my League course at Bonnelli Park I broke the course record so I was happy with that.

3) What areas of your running have you wished to work on as you head into your senior year?

I want to work on my form and pacing myself better.

4) How much running did you do this summer in preparation for this year?

I did about 40 to 50 miles a week of distance runs and shorter interval type workouts.

5) Did you change in many ways the summer training you have done as compared to other years?

No, I mostly did the same workouts but I went to a few different training camps this summer that really helped like the nike running camp at Stanford.

6) What is your favorite cross-country workout that you think prepares you best for good racing?

My favorite cross-country workout I would have to say would be tempo runs or hill repeats because the tempo runs help me prepare for what it is really going to feel like in a race and hill repeats help me get ready for Mt. Sac!

7) What are some of your goals as you look down the road later in the fall and into the spring?

Some of my goals are to be State Champion and to make it to Footlocker Nationals. Also to break 17 minutes on Mt. Sac.

8) What advice would you have for a new runner or someone out for cross-country for the first time this fall?

I would say to give it your all and never have any regrets!

9) Some quick answers:

--most recent movie you saw or rented--The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

--most recent book or magazine you read outside of school assignment--CosmoGirl!

--most recent CD you purchased or movie you downloaded for a music device--Fergie

--favorite cross-country course--Mt. Sac

--least favorite cross-country course--none

--favorite meal--orange chicken

--favorite dessert--cheesecake

--in ten years we will find you-------------------running:)

Thanks
