State CIF Office, 333 Hegenberger Road, Suite 511, Oakland, CA 94621-1462 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Emmy Zack *** MEDIA ADVISORY *** OAKLAND – The California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will host a Steroids and Athletic Stimulants Summit, presented by 24 Hour Fitness, on Tuesday, October 12, 2004. Media are invited and encouraged to attend. Attendees at the summit, which runs from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott, will include the state’s top law enforcement and K-12 education policy and decision makers. Also invited are representatives of the California Department of Education, the State Secretary of Education and the Governor’s Office. Speakers will include: Registered attendees to this “by invitation only” event will receive DEA booklets, CIF bulletins, Student Codes of Conduct and information from 24 Hour Fitness. Media wishing to secure interviews with any of the speakers immediately following the summit should make arrangements with Emmy Zack, State CIF Sports Information Director, or Jose Martinez, Public Information Officer for the DEA, Los Angeles.
