Southern Section California Coaches Alliance Meeting - September 9th - Minutes - Jay Stepp (Yucca Valley)

Here are the notes taken from the Soutern Section Coaches Alliance meeting on Sept. 9th:

15 coaches in attenance. We eliminated OC from CIF because no coaches, from OC attened the meeting. (Joke)

It was discussed to address the state committee to look at making a 6th division for xc. This would allow schools who have an enrollment of less than 2000 to compete with schools more in line with their enrollment.

Looking at using state order of events in prelims as well as finals.

All divisions will have 7 teams compete at the state except for D1 boys, who get 6.

Possibility of having only 3 automatic qualifiers to finals in a 4 heat race, plus 4 at large, based on team time, to eliminate the possibility of 1 or 2 heats being overloaded with fast teams. All others recieve 1 at-large with 12 automatic.

Individuals are limited to 24. Divide 24 by the number of races to get individual qualifiers to finals.

Online registration from league to prelims is a go, with hard copy faxed to CIF as a back-up.

Only 2 plaques are given in each div. at Finals.

Top 10 ind. recieve medals at awards ceremony, 11-15 given out in chute.
