Former California Preps at the Pre-NCAA Meet in
Iowa this past weekend - 10/18/03 - Ranked order of times from Golden
State Preps now at the College level
The NCAA Preview meet is held on the Championship course each year in
October, with Nortern Iowa hosting this year's Championship affair and
preview meet 10/18/03. Teams are not required to attend, but most top
schools do to see the course, with the races interestingly divided into
equal level competitions (two of them), with an "open" race
for other squads along for the weekend. Below is a ranked order of who
we believe are former Golden State Preps and their times (remember ladies
ran 6k this weekend with the men 8k). The 1999 and 2000 State Girls' Champs
from Peninsula HS and Coach Joe Kelly are still quite amazing, with Nicole
Lee, Breanne Sandberg, and Emily Vince forming perhaps the top trio from
any high school from across the US still running in college.
