Santa Margarita's Eagles

Begin To Soar In Big Bear!

Early indications are that they'll be strong again!

Few teams have as rich a postseason tradition as the Eagles of Santa Margarita (SS). With 2002 CIF-SS Division III individual champion Mike Powers having graduated on to UCSB and several key veterans also graduating, many rivals in the Serra League begin licking their chops. Well, although numbers are down a bit, the Eagles are beginning to show promise. Scott Stromberg, Alex Ramoska and P.D. Zeitler are the returnees, with Powers' younger brother and a pretty nifty transfer of a year ago now taking shape. For now, we pick Santa Margarita to have the inside track to the second-place position in league, with St. John Bosco as the favorite.

Santa Margarita runners descend the Fawnskin Trail at Big Bear recently.
