Jack Farrell Cross-Country Relays Extravaganza - 10/19 - Thousand Oaks HS (SS)

Jack Farrell Cross Country Relays Extravaganza will be held on October 19, 2002 on the campus of Thousand Oaks High School.

The event was designed to honor the former TOHS coach and bring a "fun" meet to the middle of the highly competitive Cross Country season in California. It seems that big meets are held every week. So, a relays meet focusing on sportsmanship and fun was created. The event features 4 person teams, with each person running a 3 mile leg. The start and finish is on the new TOHS all-weather track, so spectators can sit in the stands and view the runners. The course is flat and runs along the grass and jogging trails of a nearby park.

After the relays, we will open the school pool for the runners, and have music and dancing along with pizza poolside. Those who want to get in a few more miles will be shown a great trail along Wildwood creek, running past Indian Caves, a teepee, and a beautiful waterfall.

If any team is interested in participating, contact Robert Radnoti at (805) 492-6505 in the evenings. This inaugural event will be very low key and will help the future development of this annual event. Think about joining us next year!
