Inland Empire Update - 10/12/02 (Southern Section)

This year's meets looks to be a barn burner! The nationally ranked Sultana girls will join San Bernardino County's Redlands East Valley girls, the improving Rancho Cucamonga and Upland girls teams as they go against Murrietta Valley, Canyon Springs and a number of other highly touted Riverside County teams.
The Boys' Rim of the World Champs, Rancho Cucamonga, a strong Upland team, Sultana, and still other strong San Bernardino County teams will try to de-throne Rubidoux and their other Riverside County cohorts, Canyon Springs, Murrietta Valley, to name a few, in the boys race. The small schools competition is still developing, but looks to be very competitve as Arrowhead Christian, Los Osos, Desert Christian, and Granite Hills will be going head to head.
I have below updated information on teams. If at all possible could you include a link to the Los Osos High web page. it has all the meet information for interested teams.
Thanks Rich Morales

INLAND EMPIRE
CHALLENGE INVITATIONAL
Riverside County Vs.
San Bernardino County

Canyon Springs, Rancho Cucamonga, and Los Osos High Schools have
joined forces in what is becoming one of Southern California’s
top Cross Country Invitationals. As growth in both counties
continues, many have come to feel that this Inland Empire
Championship Invitational is the best way to insure that our
athletes receive the recognition they deserve.

With an increased number of schools, the meet promises to be
both more exciting and more competitive, bringing out the best
in our athletes. The meet features a sweepstakes race that
determines the Riverside County Champion, the San Bernardino
County Champion, and an overall Inland Empire Champion. The
meet will take advantage of what coaches last year called “the
best computer software” they’ve ever seen. The results will be
posted on the internet the same day.

Last years highlights included DIV. II State Champion, Rubidoux,
the powerhouse Murrieta Girls team led by Liza Pascuito, a
fabulous dual between Erik Maldonado and Michael Poe among many
others.
