Bakersfield High's Taylor Lucero ready to roll!!! - Competing Unattached takes CS Bakersfield Cross-Country Festival Race!!!

Taylor Lucero (Unat/Bakersfield HS) flies in local meet!!!

Just a junior at Bakersfield HS, Taylor Lucero, last year 4:17.12 and 9:27.86 for 1600m and 3200m during the spring track season, and currently ranked 10th among the State's Division I runners, started his Fall racing with an "unattached" effort at the Cal State Bakersfield Cross-Country Festival on 8/31/02. On a course described by his father as, "soggy, mostly flat, and asphalt, with tight turns, he was the winner by over a minute and a half over the 6000 meter course at 19:34.9. 6000 Meters is a bit short of four miles, with the pace about like two 10:20 3200m efforts back to back, quite impressive for a prep at this time of the year with no real competition.

Taylor will be another fine runner from the Central Section this Fall season!!!
