CONCEPT

A camp for advanced high school vaulters, beginning instruction will not be offered.

This is a chance for the nation�s top young vaulters to work with and be evaluated
by the some of the best coaches in the event.Sessions will include lots of hands on
instruction in vaulting and educational sessions with leading experts.

 

FACILITY/ACCOMMODATIONS

The new outdoor track at the University of New Mexico can have 6 vaulting pits
set up for top flight jumping.The weight room, video room and all other facilities
are within easy walking distance.The Albuquerque airport is 5 minutes away
with direct service to many locations.We will house the campers in the UNM
dorms and eat at the school dining facilities.

 

STAFF

Camp Director:Greg Hull, USATF Pole Vault Development Chair, USATF
Master Coach.Coach Hull has worked with vaulters of all levels including 2000
Olympic Champions Nick Hysong and Stacy Dragila and 2001 World Champion Dimitri Markov

Co-Director:Scott Steffan, University of New Mexico vaulting coach with two
NCAA All-Americans last year.

Lead Coaches:Tom Hays, University of Kansas, coach of numerous NCAA
All-Americans and NCAA champions both male and female.

Jim Bemiller, Univ of Tennessee, coach of 2004 Olympic Champion Tim Mack,
2000 Olympic silver medalist Lawrence Johnson and numerous other elite collegiate vaulters.

Todd Lehman, Paradise Valley Community College, 2003 USATF College Coach
of the year, Coach of 18 NJCAA Champions for men and women and the all time
NJCAA mens record holder.

Asst. coaches will be named later from programs around the country.

 

SCHEDULE

We will check in on Sunday afternoon the 8th of July and check out Wednesday
afternoon the 11th of July.If booking flights come in by 5:00pm Sunday and leave
after 3:00pm on Wednesday.We will provide all ground transportation and be
sure to notify parents of all arrivals and departures.

 

NOTES

We will be conducting an advanced coaching seminar during the camp and will have
these speakers talk with the campers on various topics.This will be a great
opportunity for young vaulters to work with the nations premier coaches.
