LYNX Clinic (Track Timing)

Royal Results will be putting on a Finish Lynx (timing system) clinic. We are constantly receiving inquires regarding timing systems. There are a number of high schools and youth track teams that either already have or are thinking of purchasing a Lynx system. Using an automatic timing system can make your meets run more efficiently with fewer volunteers and with accurate times.

Most high schools have a youth track program that use there facility. The youth programs are being compelled to use an automatic timing system as well. This can work to booth organizations advantage. The cost can be shared and most youth programs usually have several computer people that would love to learn the program. In return for using the high schools track the youth clubs time the high schools home meets. Listed below are a few local high schools and youth clubs that currently work together.

This clinic will have several modules and will be designed to accomplish the following. Module one will be for the first time user.
Minimum required equipment
Installing the software
All appropriate computer settings
Setting up the camera
Aliening the camera
Basic Camera settings/adjustments
Connecting a display to show a running/winning time.
Capturing the finish of a race
Applying times
Printing results

After this module you will be able to set up the timing/camera system and time a track meet with a running display.

Module two will be a little more advanced, geared toward schools that put on an invitational or league prelims/finals.

Applying wind readings to the sprint events
Wireless start system
Auto wind readings
Multiple networked computers
Running an unseeded meet
Multiple cameras
Multiple finish lines
