The Amateur Athletic Foundation of Los Angeles will offer a free track and field clinic this Saturday, January 28, beginning at 8:00 AM at Mt. SAC College in Walnut.

The clinic, which is free for all coaches and interested adults who would like to attend, will offer 36 different sessions throughout the day covering every track and field event along with additional sessions on mental preparation, injury prevention and recovery, goal setting, core training, nutrition, use of supplements, and much more.

Following the opening keynote session, which will be delivered by UC Davis and USATF Sport Psychology Committee member, Dr. Paul Salitsky, which will focus on developing The Competitive Mindset, there will be numerous presentations offered every hour by some of the finest and most successful coaches in the nation.

Heading the list of distinguished clinic presenters will be Brooks Johnson, current USATF High Performance Division Chair and the coach of our Olympic relay program, in the sprints; Mark Crear, former Olympic silver medalist, in the hurdles; Larry Myricks, former Olympic bronze medalist, in the long jump; and world renown jump coach, John Tansley.

Lalo Diaz, coach of the 2004 and 2005 boys state champion in the 1600, Ernie Lee, coach of the 2005 girls state champion in the 3200, and Tim Butler, coach of the boys 2005 CIF-SS Division 1 champion at 1600, will all be presenting in the distance area.

Former four time NCAA champion from UCLA, Dawn (Dumble) Godbehere, will be presenting along with former National Champion Matt Godbehere and John Amneus in the throws.
