WCSN to Broadcast
World Jr Track
Champs to those with broadband connection August 15-20, 2006 At Beijing, China Doug Speck A chance to view the World Junior Track Championships, coming up starting next week, is available at a very low cost for those with broadband computer connections. The computer network WCSN is advertising $4.95 monthly access that would obviously include the World Juniors if you were to sign up immediately. Their coverage of Meets that we have observed on their network has generally been of good quality, with a commentary that is adequate and at a cost that is tough to argue with. This will be a super competition, with those World Junior Meets we have been able to observe in person of stunning quality as the world's best "under 20 age athletes" (those in this meet must be born 1987 or later). It will be worth a watch if your connection is fast enough to even view some of the action for that price. China timewise compared to West Coast US time is fifteen hours later (so an event on the meet schedule at 4 pm China time will be at 1:00 am the previous morning (just after midnight) California time). When we checked time comparisons it was midnight just turning from August 7th to August 8th at midnight on the calendar/clock in California, but already 3:03 pm in the afternoon Tuesday, August 8th in China. Obviously keeping track of this will be important if you wish to watch the competition. Link
