The AAF Track & Field Clinics not only offer the finest presenters in the sport covering every track and field event but they are also presented free to every coach and interested adult who would like to attend.

It doesn’t matter what event you coach or how much experience you already have, you will benefit, just as the more than 2000 coaches who have attended in the past three years have, from attending one of the great Amateur Athletic Foundation Track and Field clinics that will be offered free once again this winter.

There will be two Beginning/Intermediate Level I Clinics and one Advanced Level Clinic presented this winter—coaches may attend one, two or all three of the clinics.

The two Level 1 Clinics--which offer Beginning and Intermediate instruction in all seven track and field event areas: sprints, hurdles, distances, throws, pole vault, high jump, long and triple jump—will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2005, at Mt. SAC in Walnut and February 12, 2005, at Westview High School in Poway.

The Advanced Level Clinic will be presented on Saturday, January 29, 2005, at Mt. SAC.

The Advanced Clinic—which will feature as the keynote speaker former UCLA great and World Record Holder in the triple jump, Willie Banks—will also offer Advanced Level instruction in all seven event areas along with several other sessions including how to set up and use Hy-tek meet management software, identifying and treating track and field related injuries, recognizing and dealing with steroid abuse and much, much more.

Banks, who will also do a session on the triple jump, leads an impressive line-up of presenters including Greg Hull--Co-National Coach for USATF Pole Vault Development; Larry Myricks—NCAA, USA, World long jump champion; Charles Leathers—Riverside North High School coach who has produced an unprecedented string of great hurdlers; Kevin Reid—coach of Azusa Pacific University, 2004 Mens and Womens NAIA National Champions; John Tanlsey—world renown high jump coach; and many, many other great coaches.

Even though all three clinics are offered free of charge to all coaches and interested adults who would like to attend, the first 150 coaches who pre-register will receive a free gift compliments of Venue Sports & Springco Athletics at the clinic.
