May 11, 2005 LONG BEACH, CA-- Mount Carmel high jumper Lindsay Whetstine (San Diego) has a lot of ties to Long Beach State. It's only natural she'd sign a National Letter of Intent. Whetsine, who ranks fourth in the state in the high jump (5'8.25"), was tutored by world record holder Dwight Stones and was the the recipient of the Ramona Pagel Award. Both were former 49er greats. "Lindsay is a tenacious competitor and brings the
determination we like to see from an athlete," said Whetstine has qualified for the state meet in each of
the last three years, and is a three-time CIF San
Diego Section Champion. Whetstine has cleared 5'8"
four times this season and has lost just six meets her ATHLETE BIO |
