Arianna Lugo She has already set a National Frosh Record in the Hammer Throw this season and is off to a great start during her high school athletic career. Los Altos of Hacienda Heights star Arianna Lugo took time out from her schedule to talk to us a tad about what has been happening with her in her throwing and life lately. The yearly Hammer Throw list follows her comments. 1) How long have you been involved in throwing and how did you get into the Hammer event? I have been throwing for 7 years I started when I was 8. I got into hammer from my big brother Bobby 2) What other sports have you done along the way while growing up? I have done cheerleading which I still do and softball and also track 3) What are some of your goals for this outdoor season this spring and summer? To set the hammer record higher. to throw farther in all the events 4) What are some of your goals in future years in the sport? To make it to the olympics, and to be throwing far 5) What can we find you doing with your spare time outside of school and throwing? When I am not doing that stuff I'm watching TV or hanging with my friends or on the phone or just doing my homework 6) Any other family members involved in sports? My big brother was in high school football and he also went into track and field in high school and continued through college, and my dad ran cross crountry in college 7) Any athlete you model yourself after? I just do my own stuff and listen to what my coach tells me. Coach Lloyd Higgins 8) What advice would you have for a thrower new to our sport in their first year?
