Age-Group Coaches Needed
Valley Youth Conference
San Fernando Valley

Age-Group Coaches need in the greater San Fernando Valley area in the Valley Youth Conference.

Each team always has a need for additional coaches (even prepared college age persons (past, present athletes/future coaches)) volunteers that want to help youth in almost every area of track and field (probably more so in field events).

The VYC consists of 15 youth (coed 5-15 years old) teams (with between 60 and 275 athletes on each team) located mainly in the San Fernando Valley in the Los Angeles area, with teams in locations from Palmdale (on the North) to Westlake (West) to Encino, Van Nuys area (South) to Glendale (East). Depending on where a coach desires to coach, the coach can choose a team. Practices start March 1 and times vary by club, but are typically held in the weekday evenings and Saturday mornings.

Background information:
The Valley Youth Conference has fielded teams for over 30 years, providing a safe, competitive environment for our community's young athletes. Each club provides a program that encourages and develops discipline, fitness, good sportsmanship, responsible behavior, and a strong sense of personal pride and satisfaction and teaches the fundamentals of Track & Field in a positive, supportive and most importantly, fun environment. All clubs are non-profit organizations with all volunteer personnel. Track meet competitions are held on a weekly basis between the Valley Youth Conference's member clubs from April to May, with many athletes choosing to proceed on through the Junior Olympic program. In addition, many athletes continue their track & field careers in high schools, colleges and universities across the nation. In fact, many alums of our programs are featured on Dyestat presently.
