For any HS athletes/coaches- below is the info for the annual Jr. Elite T&F camps in Chula Vista, CA, The throws camp is July 8-11. All info on standards and how to apply is listed below- I have not picked the javelin instructor yet. Last year no Jr. men went, so there was no javelin instruction. Contact Mike Holman if interested in attending.

2004 USA Track & Field Men's Junior Elite Track & Field Training Camps
U.S. Olympic Training Center, San Diego, California
CAMP DATES: THROWS-JULY 8-11, 2004
SPRINTS/HURDLES/DECATHLON-JULY 20-25, 2004
DISTANCE-JULY 26-31, 2004
JUMPS-AUGUST 1-6, 2004

FOR: Junior Elite male track and field athletes, (ages 14-19), and their coaches. Athletes must not turn 20 during 2004. The camps are limited to athletes who are USA citizens, eligible for participation on the USA Olympic team. The coach (maximum of one per athlete) is strongly encouraged to apply for and attend the camp with his/her athlete. Athletes may, but are not encouraged to, attend without a coach. Coaches may not attend without a qualified athlete. There is a $25 application fee for the athlete and the coach, (one $25 fee covers both). Checks payable to USATF.
QUALIFYING STANDARDS: Athletes must have achieved the respective standard between 1/1/04 and the first day of the camp, in a bona fide track and field competition (i.e., legal track/field facility, no practice trials, no wind-aided marks, no relay times, no cross-country or road race marks). Athletes must also be ranked in the top 20 by Track & Field News in the final rankings for his respective event or events. Athletes must be ranked in the top 20 in the season ending rankings.

CURRICULUM: Camp activities include classroom and field instruction on the fundamentals of training and competition, presented by the nation's finest track & field coaches and scientists. Instructors will be from USATF'S Men's Development Committee.

TRANSPORTATION: All athletes and coaches are responsible for their own transportation to/from San Diego. Once you arrive in San Diego all expenses will be provided by USA TRACK & FIELD and the USOC (includes meals, housing, and transportation in San Diego-to and from the airport).
