He's
ready to roll in 2004!!! - LSU bound receiver/basketballer in shape!!
Event 26 Men 200 Meter Dash That may have been good luck for Carter, a normally slow starter. Harris got out quick, but Carter held his own and did not let Harris get too far ahead. Not showing any difficulty keeping his 6-03 , 190 lb frame on the tight cornered indoor track, Carter began to unwind his long legs down the backstretch. By the second curve, he was in full flight. He negotiated the turn well and even looked to accelerate coming out and then into the homestretch. He flew past the finish line looking strong as an ox and having possibly more left in him (Harris was a well beaten and distance second). No doubt he could run a 400m at the break neck speed he demonstrated. Cater moves to number 2 with his 21.04 NCAA qualifying mark. He stands only behind Brendan Christian’s(Reagan, Austin, TX) 2001 banked track mark of 21.02. One has to begin to wonder what Carter could do in this, the Olympic year. He has demonstrated that he can handle several high stakes races (in the same meet) and produce national caliber times. Looking at his history, he’s lopped off about .4 seconds or more per year in the 200m and 400m. Don’t put anything past him next week at NIC or this outdoor track season. 1 5952 Carter, Xavier Unattached 21.04# 1
